Ebla — archaeological sensation of the XX-th century

The Italian archeologist Paolo Matte of 15 years conducted excavation of a barrow of Tel-Mardih in Syria, in 70 km to the south of Haleb. And in 1975 to it huge good luck has come: it has revealed a secret of 45-century prescription, having come across the imperial archive containing about 16 thousand of clay tablets with клинописными by texts. Preliminary decoding of a part of texts has allowed to draw a sensational conclusion: at least in XXV–XXIII centuries BC [7] in territory of Northern Syria and Lebanon there was a powerful state with capital in Ebla competing to Egypt and Akkad, empire of the Semitic people which have created earlier unknown civilization. Эблаиты spoke in language — the predecessor of all ханаанских (Semitic) languages, including Phoenician. In those days «all roads conducted in Eblu»: it was the largest shopping center of Forward Asia (more than 250 thousand inhabitants with suburbs) and supervised extensive territory from хр. A Tauri in Asia Minor in the north to Sinai in the south.
